Birth Connections was started 20 years ago with the goal to make sure that every family has support during childbirth. Since then, Birth Connections has expanded from just offering Labour Doula Services, and now we offer Postpartum, Abortion & and HypnoDoula services. We also have prenatal classes, workshops, and boot camps.
Covid taught me how to pivot and how to use technology to my advantage! While being a labour doula is not easy doing it virtually, it can be done! And now with prenatal classes offered online, I can teach people from all over, not just in the Halton Region. While it isn't the same as hands-on, in person classes, the information is the same regardless
It is my goal to make sure that every family has the support they need during this time. I am a fierce advocate for a person's right to choose what happens to their bodies, and as a Doula and Childbirth Educator, I strive to provide all my clients with the best information and advocacy available so that they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families. Being pregnant is a challenging, and exciting time. So many important decisions that you need to make, and so many options that you didn't even know existed! In the workshops and prenatal classes, we discuss everything so that you are better able to make those important decisions.

I am a 40-something woman who is married to an amazingly supportive man, with 3 beautiful kids. I went to school for nursing, but realized that it wasn't for me - not the patient care, that part I loved, but the bureaucracy and politics of working in hospitals. I was better suited working for myself, there were fewer arguments that way! When I learned about doulas, I knew this was the life for me. Since starting Birth Connections I have become a certified Labour Doula, a trained Postpartum Doula, a Certified HypnoBabies HypnoDoula, an Abortion Doula, and a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. I now have a lot of letters after my name!
I have always been a strong believer in a person's right to choose what happens with their body. In my classes and with all my clients, my goal is to not only provide parents with information, but the confidence to know that they are prepared, as well as the confidence to ask questions of their healthcare providers and the ability to advocate for themselves.
The BIrth Connections motto is: Empower, Educate, and Advocate. As a doula and childbirth educator, that is a motto that I live by!
