Workshops are a great way to refresh your memory, or learn about specific topics. The workshops are arranged around your schedule, and they are all done privately. All workshops are offer at the Birth Connections Studio in Milton. All workshops are $65.

Labour Refresher


This is a great workshops for those who already have kids but need a bit of a reminder, or if you have already taken a prenatal course, but you want a bit more detail about Labour & Delivery. Maybe you would like to have a better birth this time around!!!


Materials Covered:

  • Reasons to have a birth plan and how to create one

  • How to recognize true vs. false labour

  • How to record contractions

  • Natural methods of Induction

  • Comfort measures, breathing, massage techniques and position for labour

  • The stages of labour and what to expect

  • How the support person can help .

Breastfeeding Workshop

This is a workshops if you would like a bit more detailed information about breastfeeding in general. This can be taken before the birth or once baby has been born.


Materials Covered:

  • Reasons to breastfeed

  • The anatomy and physiology of breastfeeding

  • Positioning and latching

  • Signs that baby is getting enough milk

  • Proper nutrition for mom

  • Issues that can arrise when breastfeeding

  • Pumping and storing breastmilk

Postpartum Workshop

This is a workshops to help prepare for once the baby is born and brought home.

Materials Covered:

  • What happens once you give birth and what to expect.

  • Newborn and New Mom care

  • Postpartum Depression

  • Bathing Baby

  • Diapering and swaddling

  • How to cope during the postpartum period

  • How a postpartum Doula can help


Natural Labour Workshop

This is a workshop designed to help couples who are interested in having a natural childbirth. Together with your support person, you will learn different techniques for relieving stress, new positions and relaxation techniques that you can practice at home. We will also discuss the reasons behind discomfort and pain, how to cope with it and deal with any issues that may arrise.


*Please bring your own yoga mat & pillows with you as we will be on the floor for part of this workshop.
