Birth Connections Doulas

 Melissa Cassells

I am the proud mother three beautiful girls and married to a wonderful husband.  I have always been interested in childbirth and it was only after the birth of my first niece 13 years ago that I knew this was what I wanted to do. So I became a doula.  I am a Certified Labour Doula (DONA) and a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator. It is my goal to help all expecting parents have the birth and postpartum experience that they dream of. I am there to support the entire family, and help them have a happy and positive birth experience.

 Deanna Burns

I am a labour and birth doula certified through DONA International. I became a doula after my experience at the birth of my daughter; how it reminded me how important it is for women to educate and inform themselves about options for their birth. I see my role as a doula as one of support, education and advocacy, helping a woman attain the birth experience she hopes for. I am also teaching prenatal classes for Birth Connections while working on certification as a childbirth educator. Being a mother to a beautiful 4 year old girl and being a Child and Youth Worker also helps me in supporting families as a postpartum doula.
